Grant. Da Vinci.

One of my most recent rabbit holes has been about world-renowned polymath Robert Edward Grant. I stumbled across an interview with Grant and have been stuck on his works, teachings, and fascinating discoveries and ideas. First, I find him fascinating because he is so multifaceted and well-learned. Polymath, by definition, is a student of an expert in multiple disciplines. Grant speaks eight languages, five fluently which is amazing by most standards. He is extremely successful by any standards and is constantly pushing himself to learn and grow as a human and businessman, as well as a scientist. This post will specifically touch on one of Grant’s most important studies, Leonardo Da Vinci…

Leonardo Da Vinci is widely regarded as one of the most brilliant minds in human history. He was an artist, scientist, inventor, and visionary who made countless contributions to a wide range of fields, from painting and sculpture to engineering and anatomy. His legacy has inspired generations of artists and scientists, and his work continues to captivate and inspire people around the world.

Robert Edward Grant is one of the many individuals who have been deeply influenced by Leonardo Da Vinci’s work. As a polymath and innovator, Grant has been fascinated by Da Vinci’s ability to bridge different disciplines and apply his insights to a wide range of fields. Through his own research and exploration, Grant has discovered many intriguing connections between Da Vinci’s work and modern scientific concepts.

One of the key findings that Grant has made is related to the concept of fractals. Fractals are complex geometric patterns that repeat themselves at different scales, and they are found throughout nature and in many human-made structures. Grant has discovered that Da Vinci’s work contains many examples of fractal-like patterns, and he believes that Da Vinci may have intuitively understood the mathematical principles behind these patterns.

Another area of Da Vinci’s work that Grant has explored is his study of human anatomy. Da Vinci’s anatomical drawings are renowned for their detail and accuracy, and they continue to be studied by medical professionals and artists alike. Grant has applied modern mathematical and computational techniques to analyze Da Vinci’s anatomical drawings, and he has discovered many fascinating insights into the structure and function of the human body.

One of the most intriguing aspects of Grant’s findings related to Da Vinci is the idea that Da Vinci may have had an intuitive understanding of mathematical and scientific principles that were not fully articulated until many centuries later. This idea challenges the conventional view of Da Vinci as simply a “renaissance man” who excelled in many different fields, and suggests that his insights and discoveries may have been more profound than we previously realized.

For example, Grant has shown that Da Vinci’s use of perspective in his paintings may have been based on an understanding of the mathematics of projective geometry, a field that was not fully developed until the 19th century. Similarly, Grant has found that Da Vinci’s work on fluid mechanics and turbulence may have anticipated modern theories of chaos and complexity.

These insights highlight the value of interdisciplinary thinking and the importance of looking beyond the boundaries of individual fields of study. By drawing on insights from art, science, and mathematics, Grant has been able to uncover new connections and insights that would not have been possible through a narrower focus on any one field.

In addition to his work on da Vinci’s contributions to mathematics, science, and art, Robert Edward Grant has also explored the connections between Da Vinci and ancient Egypt. Specifically, Grant has focused on the influence of Egyptian art and culture on Da Vinci’s work, as well as the potential links between Da Vinci and the mysteries of ancient Egypt.

Da Vinci’s interest in Egypt is well documented, and he is known to have studied Egyptian art and architecture in detail. He was particularly fascinated by the pyramids, and it is believed that he may have visited Egypt during his travels. Grant has studied Da Vinci’s notes and drawings related to Egypt, and he has uncovered many intriguing connections between Da Vinci’s work and ancient Egyptian culture.

For example, Grant has found that Da Vinci’s use of symbols and motifs in his artwork may have been influenced by ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. He has also shown that Da Vinci’s studies of perspective and spatial relationships may have been inspired by the architectural features of Egyptian temples and tombs.

Moreover, Grant has explored the idea that Da Vinci may have been aware of the esoteric teachings and spiritual traditions of ancient Egypt. He suggested that Da Vinci may have been influenced by the ideas of the Egyptian mystery schools, which were dedicated to the study of hidden knowledge and the exploration of the divine.

Grant’s fascination with Da Vinci’s work has pushed him to find many incredible and controversial connections that bring into question many of the accepted “facts” about history, mathematics, Universal truths, and science of the mainstream. Specifically his connections to several of Da Vinci’s most famous paintings and the King’s Tomb. Watching his interviews on Youtube and Gaia are probably the easiest way to hear from the man himself. I enjoy his thoughts on how geniuses like Da Vinci documented hidden and esoteric knowledge about the Universe in plain view, for all with eyes to see and ears to hear.

There are amazing connections that flow through the genius of the ages and it all speaks to higher knowledge than simply magnificent paintings and diary entries. Grant has a skillful way of simplifying complex mathematical equations that somehow explain our Universe. I invite you to take some time to look into this polymath and ponder his works.
